Personal Training and Rehabilitation

Owner: Kari Geier

My passion for fitness and health started at a young age when I was training for Downhill Ski Racing. I had many personal trainers of my own growing up and loved the work they did with me. Because skiing is a hard sport on your body, I endured many injuries and therefore spent a lot of time rehabbing them through physiotherapy and active rehab. I learned a lot about my body during that time and with a season ending injury decided it was time to go back to school.

I graduated in 2011 with a Degree in Human Kinetics: Kinesiology and Health Sciences from the University of British Columbia. While at school, I raced on the UBC Thunderbirds Ski Team for 4 years. During my last semester at school, I became their strength and conditioning coach. That last semester I was also diagnosed with Celiac Disease. Celiac Disease is an autoimmune disorder that can only be cured through a gluten free diet. Going on a gluten free diet didn't cure all my stomach problems so I would spend hours a day researching nutrition, food allergies and recipes. I am not a registered nutritionist or dietician but do have a lot of knowledge about healthy eating, nutrition, and allergy friendly recipes.

Since then, I have been working as a full time Personal Training Coach and Kinesiologist in the Tri-Cities.  My true passion is to help others when it comes to health and wellness. I not only focus on safe exercise techniques and provide reasoning behind the exercise I choose, but I will you hard while doing them! I just recently started up on my own and will be working as a private contractor out of Coast Kinetics, a personal training studio in Burnaby.
